What Is a Market Sprint? STRADANO's Entry Engagement

An engagement rarely starts well without a shared view of the bottleneck, target audience and KPIs first. Markt-Sprint is STRADANO's answer to that problem.

An operator and a consultant meet. Both nod along to everything. Three months later, they’re arguing over whose assumptions were right. That’s how engagements end in conflict instead of results.

Markt-Sprint (literally “market sprint”) is STRADANO’s answer to this pattern: a clearly defined format that comes before the actual engagement — four to eight weeks in which we work out, together, what should actually happen, and how we’ll measure whether it does.

What happens during the Markt-Sprint

Three things, always in this order:

1. Honest diagnosis. We look together at your last 30 lost deals and your last 30 wins. What separates them? Who bought, who walked away, and at what point in the process does it tip one way or the other? Gut feeling out, patterns in.

2. Hypotheses instead of strategy. A strategy reads well on paper but rarely survives first contact with reality. I work with testable hypotheses instead: if we approach target group X with value proposition Y through channel Z, we should see response R within three weeks. Hypotheses are falsifiable — strategies rarely are.

3. KPIs before the engagement. Which two or three numbers actually decide success? Pipeline value? First-reply rate? Closing rate? We define them before we start. Otherwise, the conversation at the end is about feelings instead of results.

What the Markt-Sprint is not

It’s not a workshop, not discovery theatre, not a “strategy day with a flipchart.” We don’t sit in rooms talking about your sales — we get our hands on it: calling two or three existing customers, looking at the real data in your CRM and pipeline, talking to one or two dream prospects, and checking whether your pricing holds up in reality.

At the end, you get a concrete proposal for the engagement, a set of hypotheses with a first test plan, and performance KPIs that both of us sign off on.

When the Markt-Sprint is worth it

It’s a fit when:

  • You feel that sales has stalled, but it’s not clear why
  • You’re facing a major investment decision (a sales hire, new tooling, market entry)
  • An investor or advisory board expects clear KPIs before releasing further capital
  • You need a second, honest opinion — before committing to a longer engagement

When it’s not a fit

If all you’re looking for is confirmation of what you already believe. Or if the operational question has long since been decided and what you actually need is extra hands. In the first case, we’re the wrong partner — we’d push back exactly where pushback is needed. In the second case, we skip the run-up and start directly with the engagement.

What it costs

A fixed price, quoted clearly upfront. No day rates, no expenses attached. If the Markt-Sprint doesn’t turn into a full engagement, you still walk away with a solid diagnosis and an actionable test plan — one you can implement yourself, or with any other partner.

That’s the core of it: Markt-Sprint separates the promise from the action. Plain talk first, engagement second. KPIs first, skin in the game second.
